Unleashing Potential, Improving Lives
Paws for Progress is an inspiring and innovative organisation dedicated to improving the lives of both people and dogs. We provide educational, therapeutic, and interactive dog-assisted programmes for people most in need of support.
Through our unique dog-assisted learning programmes provided in prisons, schools, and our local community, we build relationships between people and dogs to support our learners to grow, learn, and progress in their personal development.
As providers of the UK’s first prison-based rescue dog training programme we have unique expertise, specialising in trauma-informed and neurodiversity-informed services for at-risk young people and adults. We particularly focus on those who are involved in the criminal justice system, or at risk of becoming involved.
We deliver high-quality services which are evidence-based and centred around our learners, building on their strengths. We are committed to effective partnership working, collaborating closely with the Scottish Prison Service, Fife College, Edinburgh Dog and Cat Home, the University of Stirling, Enable Scotland, and many more local organisations.
